Cozumel is a small island off the coast of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and is known for its incredible, crystal clear blue waters. The island is a premier dive location in the Caribbean and has two very famous reefs, Paradise Reef and Palancar, which are right off the coast. I was on the island shooting for Champagne Swim's new release and wanted to do some underwater photography to showcase the swimwear and amazing water visibility.
For the underwater pictures, I used my Canon 5D Mark IV with an Aquatech Elite housing, paired with a PD-85 8in dome port. I used a Sigma 20mm F1.4 ART lens to get a nice wide field of view while using the dome. Shooting underwater can be tricky because of factors like unfamiliar white balances, rapidly changing light, and choppy current. For the aerial photos, I used a DJI Mavic Pro, paired with a Polar Pro ND8 filter, to block out harsh light during sunset.
